Yunnan ginger
Perennial perennial root herbs. The rhizome is fleshy, thick and flat with aromatic and pungent taste. Leaves arranged, thorium-shaped to strip-shaped lanceolate, 15-30 cm long and 2 cm wide, apex acuminate, base narrow, smooth glabrous, leafsheath with embracing stems; sessile.
Stems erect, separated by imbricate scales; spikes ovate to oval, about 5 cm long and 2.5 cm wide; bracts oval, pale green; flowers dense, about 2.5 cm long, apex acute; calyx tubular; corolla 3-lobed, lobes lanceolate, yellow, lip shorter, long obovate, pale purple, yellow-white spots, each with small lobes on both sides of the lower part; stamens 1. Members, protruding, ovary inferior; style filiform, lavender, stigma radiate. Capsules are oblong and swollen about 2.5 cm, flowering from June to August.
